Dr. Shailesh Raina is the Director of Urology, Renal Transplantation, and Robotics at Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai, India. He graduated and completed his postgraduate studies at the Armed Forces Medical College in Pune. He then trained in urology in Mumbai for three years and in the United Kingdom for two years at the Bristol Royal Infirmary in Bristol, the Institute of Urology in London, and the Taunton and Somerset Hospital. In 1989, he returned to Mumbai as a consultant urologist, where he helped establish ESWL and upper tract endourology (PCNL and URS) at Jaslok Hospital in Mumbai.
He is a postgraduate teacher for the Diplomate National Board in Urology at Jaslok Hospital and was assigned as A. Prof. Urology to Sir J.J. Group of Hospitals and Grant Medical College Mumbai to assist in the re-establishment of the renal transplantation program. In 2006, he led the first workshop on neuropathic bladder in India (SIU Indian Division). Dr. Raina was instrumental in establishing the 'pelvic' floor clinic and the neurourology clinic at Jaslok Hospital.
Dr. Raina received robotic surgery training at the OLV Robotic Surgery Institute in Aalst, Belgium, in September 2011 and at the Da Vinci Training Center IRCAD Strasbourg (France) in October 2015.
