Dr Raman Malik is an Almamater of AFMC, Pune. He did his MBBS (1972) and MD(1981) from Pune University. Thereafter he served 22 years in the Armed Forces in various capacities as a medical officer and MD physician with a 5 year training stint abroad. He did his Nephrology training from AIIMS, New Delhi (1989) and was the first nephrologist to start the Renal Transplant Program in 1991 in the armed forces. He took premature retirement from the armed forces and has been in civil practice since 1999 (22 years) in Mumbai. At present he is Senior consultant with the Nephrology and Renal transplant department at Fortis Hospital, Mulund. He has numerous papers to his credit and has presented a paper in the First SAARC Conference in New Delhi. Presently, his interest is in renal transplant and good Dialysis and Glomerularnephritis. He has conducted over 500 Renal transplants in his individual capacity. He did the first Hepato-renal Transplant under his direct care at Fortis hospital in January, 2021. He was the MD Med teacher of Mumbai University from 1985-87 and has been "Commended by the defence authorities for his Nephrology work."
