Dr. Ahmad has completed his Medical Graduation from the prestigious AMU, one of the oldest university of India. He was Awarded Gold Medal and honors during his under graduate training. He completed his master degree in general surgery with a broad exposure of all subspecialties of surgery. He also passed his diplomat of National board of examination, from NBE, New Delhi. Subsequently he was awarded membership of national academy of medical sciences, New Delhi. Since Plastic surgery was his passion he pursued this and completed 3 years M.Ch super specialty course in plastic surgery. His love for micro vascular surgery brought him to Tata memorial hospital, Mumbai in 2003. The immense workload of Tata memorial hospital honed his surgical skills and decision making ability. He also qualified the honorary MRCS exam from Edinburgh and became member of royal college of surgeons of Edinburgh. He served Tata Memorial hospital Mumbai as consultant plastic surgeon till 2010 when he moved out for corporate private practice and joined Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. He heads the plastic surgery services in Kokilaben Hospital and has a busy practice in KDA and caters to all types of complex and challenging plastic surgery cases. He has performed one of the largest series of microvascular surgeries in the city of Mumbai. He has highest numbers in breast reconstruction surgeries in breast cancer patients. He routinely performs both immediate and delayed reconstruction in suitable breast cancer patients. He is also a leading name in double breast reconstruction after double mastectomy in familial breast cancer patients (BRCA 1, BRCA 2). He believes in autologous tissues for reconstruction as it gives the best long term result and stability. For the same reasons he uses patient own cartilage and tissues for cosmetic and functional rhinoplasty. He is frequently invited for lectures and surgical demonstrations in plastic surgery conferences and workshops, both nationally and internationally.
