Dr. Prithika Chary

Dr. Prithika Chary stands as a pioneering figure in Indian medicine, distinguished as the first and only woman to hold qualifications as both a Neurologist and a Neurosurgeon. With an impressive career spanning over 45 years, she specializes in the treatment of a diverse range of brain-related disorders. Her expertise covers conditions such as Stroke, Epilepsy, Dementia, Parkinsonism, developmental delays in children, speech disorders, and aphasiology. Alongside her clinical practice, Dr. Chary has been an influential educator since 1974, mentoring postgraduates, undergraduates, as well as nursing and paramedical staff. She is also committed to public health, actively participating in awareness programs to educate the community about neurological conditions.

Academically, Dr. Chary holds a comprehensive set of qualifications including an MBBS, MD in General Medicine, DM and PhD in Neurology, MCh in Neurosurgery, and MNAMS in Neurology. Her primary areas of expertise are in Epileptology and Cognitive and Behavioural Neurology.
