Dr. Muthu Kumar P. is a highly skilled and experienced Senior Nephrologist with over 13 years of experience in the field of Nephrology and Kidney Transplantation. His interest in Nephrology and Transplant Medicine started in his undergraduate days and increased manifold during his MD training, when he completed his Nephrology thesis. During his extensive career, Dr. Muthu Kumar has managed several high-risk Kidney Transplants, including combined Liver-Kidney Transplants and combined pancreas-Kidney Transplants. His transplant expertise is not only limited to Kidney and combined Liver-Kidney Transplants but also extends to the management of immunosuppression in hand and Uterine Transplantation. He is also highly skilled in performing procedures like Renal Biopsy, temporary dialysis catheter insertion, and Permcath insertion.

His special interests include Intensive Care Nephrology, Renal Transplantation, Glomerular diseases, Nephropathology and Preventive Nephrology. He has completed a one-year certificate program in Nephropathology conducted by the prestigious International Society of Nephrology (ISN).
