Dr. Kayapanda Muthana Mandana

Dr. Mandana joined Fortis as a full time Consultant in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery. He has performed many Critical and Complex Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeries throughout his career. Dr. Mandana & his team performed the first successful Heart Transplant Surgery in eastern India on 21 May 2018, this operation was done at Fortis Anandapur, Kolkata and subsequently six such Surgeries have been performed for ill Heart failure patients. He completed his MS in General Surgery from S.N. Medical College, Rajasthan University & did his MCh (Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery) from Kasturaba Medical College & Hospital, Manipal. After that he completed fellowship of European Board of Cardiothoracic Surgeons from University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, United Kingdom (2000). He is now a full-time director of Cardiac Surgery at Fortis Hospital, Anandapur, Kolkata.
