Dr. Imran Hamzawala

Dr. Imran Hamzawala acquired his MBBS degree from Grant Medical College, Sir J.J Group of Hospitals, Mumbai University in India. He then went to London for Post Graduation in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, where he trained and was awarded a degree – MRCOG by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, London. 

Later, he did a fellowship in Gynaec-Oncology with Robotic Surgery from Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford (Centre of Excellence for Minimally Invasive Surgery), United Kingdom. He has also acquired his Robotic Surgery training and certification from the renowned IRCAD, Strasbourg, France.   

Dr. Hamzawala is also a Specialist in Colposcopy, (The science of Screening and confirming Cancers of the Cervix, Vagina and Vulva). He has received a notable certification and training in Colposcopy from the BSCCP (Bristish Society for Colposcopy & Cervical Pathology), London. He is also highly experienced in the treatment of Vulval diseases. 

Dr. Hamzawala has spent over 14 years in the U.K. where he gained his qualifications and experience. He was also a Consultant at Croydon University Hospital, London, U.K before moving back to Mumbai, India. 

Dr. Hamzawala is a Gynaecologist, a Gynaec-Cancer Specialist and a Robotic & Laparoscopic Surgeon. He is currently affiliated to Jaslok Hospital in Mumbai, India. He is the Chief of the Robotic Surgery Department at Saifee Hospital. He has overseen over 1150 Robotic Surgeries at Saifee Hospital. His extensive training and vast experience in U.K. in the field of Robotic Surgery has highly influenced as well as contributed to him running a seamless robotic program here in India. He also mentors and trains other doctors and nursing staff in this highly specialised field of surgery. 

Dr. Hamzawala is the National Proctor for Robotic Surgery - India. He is also an Official Scientific Speaker for Intuitive Surgical - India.
